There was a special atmosphere of family togetherness at a bar mitzvah I attended. The next day I called to let the mother know I'd noticed. She said it meant a lot to hear that from a guest. People put so much effort into their milestone celebrations. They feel fulfilled to hear how beautiful things appeared to people they invited.
